My first year on the APCO Executive Committee has come and gone in the blink of an eye. There has been a lot of reading, lot of listening, lot of learning and a lot of outreach. I’m so impressed with the leadership that we have in our industry and this association. The last half of this year isn’t how any of us expected, but we have managed, adapted and overcome.
I want to take a moment to thank Angela Bowen & Mark Pallans, two amazing individuals, for your passion and willingness to run for the 2nd Vice President position. Contested campaigns are difficult and stressful, but truly better for the association. No one could have imagined running during a pandemic. Congratulations Angie, I look forward to working with you in the coming years.
To the members, my Illinois APCO family, my SEECOM family, and my amazing family (Miki & Joe) that occasionally get to see me. Thank you for the continued unwavering support. I’m once again humbled to continue to advance and lead this association and excited to take the reigns as your 1st Vice President.
Holly, as you depart from the Executive Committee, I want to thank you for the years of friendship and mentorship. You’ve made a difference in my life, my career and this industry. (O*H*I*O)
Tracey, thank you for leading this association through what can only be said is unprecedented times. Your drive is second to none.
Desi, Becky & Dave, I appreciate our camaraderie, discussions, debates and time over your years on the Board.
As two days of meetings have concluded and the ceremonial swearing in recently completed, we immediately embark on planning for the coming year. Public Safety Communications does not stop. It’s a 24/7 business and this board is ready for the task.
Thank you APCO. Here’s to another good year! Cheers!!
